"Apple Intelligence" dominated WWDC

In some ways, I'm surprised that Apple's WWDC keynote was only 1 hour and 45 minutes – especially considering they didn't even get to the AI "Apple Intelligence" part until just over an hour into the event. On the other hand, these things are always filled with a lot of filler. Did we really need the most screen time given to the Math Notes feature of the all-new and astonishing Calculator app for iPad? Probably not.

Luckily, many sites now do the quick video summaries of the events. Above is Joanna Stern's for The Wall Street Journal – WWDC24 in 5 minutes and 19 seconds. And while it turns out that "AI, AI, AI, AI, AI" was not the new "5G, 5G, 5G, 5G, 5G", that's only because "Apple Intelligence" was. That phrase was uttered some 60 times by Stern's count, versus once for "AI" (and only for Federighi to make a quip joke clearly years in the making about it – "AI for the rest of us").

Those who want to watch the full keynote can find it here.
