I’m sure there’s a smart way to invest in AI startups. But I’ll be damned if I know what it is. And I’m not sure anyone knows what it is. Actually, I’m not sure there is a smart way to invest in AI startups.

Every single day — literally every day — we get news of a new giant round of funding for an AI startup. Or just another massive slug for the same AI startup you read getting that giant round a few weeks ago. And dozens of other startups that have sprinkled AI pixie dust onto their pitch decks. And many that don’t even have pitch decks. And many that don’t even have companies yet.
